AIDA International is  the Worldwide Federation for breath-hold diving. a non profit organisation that was formerly founded in 1992.

Over the years it has defined  all the disciplines in freediving that we have today and it is still the single freediving organisation that governs and authenticates all world records and rankings with their associated standards and ethics. It is the only organisation that trains and certifies judges.

AIDA is the precursor to all the other exisiting freedive agencies and its education programme, developed over all its years with the assistance of historical world class freedivers, dive professionals and scientists, maintains the highest standards                  of instruction and certification.

AIDA course materials are the backbone to any other                             freediving course materials that you will find.

AIDA International is an assembly for

  • freedivers and judges,
  • competition,
  • education and training, and
  • the freediving community worldwide.
